• Asian shares inched lower on Tuesday as caution reigned ahead of a potentially tense meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping later this week.
MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 0.2 percent.
• Japan's Nikkei share average fell on Tuesday to 10-week lows as the safe-haven yen rose and as automakers tumbled on weaker-than-expected U.S. sales.
The Nikkei dropped 0.9 percent to 18,810.25 points, the lowest closing level since Jan. 24.
