• The Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI fell 63.28 points, or 0.32 percent, to close at 19,891, the S&P 500 .SPX dropped 4.88 points, or 0.21 percent, to 2,270.44 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC dipped 16.16 points, or 0.29 percent, to 5,547.49.

Japan's Nikkei stock index .N225 rose 0.4 percent, on track to shed 1.2 percent for the week.
