Asian shares rallied on Thursday, taking their cue from Wall Street, after the Federal Reserve left U.S. interest rates unchanged and slowed the pace of future hikes, knocking the dollar and lifting commodity prices.
MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan .MIAPJ0000PUS extended gains to 1.2 percent in its sixth straight session of increases, just 0.9 percent shy of its one-year high touched earlier this month.
The Hang Seng index ended the session up 0.4 percent, at 23,759.80, while the China Enterprises Index gained 0.5 percent, to 9,893.80 points.
The blue-chip CSI300 index rose 0.7 percent, to 3,291.12, while the Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.5 percent to 3,042.31 points.
