·       European markets traded lower Monday after President Donald Trump announced new tariffs against China.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 was off by 0.15 percent with most sectors in the red. Autos were the worst-performing sector in early deals due to trade concerns.

·       Asian shares fell to a 2-1/2 week low on Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump cranked up trade tensions by going ahead with tariffs on Chinese imports, prompting Beijing to immediately respond in kind.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan .MIAPJ0000PUS slid 0.5 percent to its lowest level since May 31.

·       Japanese stocks fell on Monday as an escalating trade dispute between the United States and China stoked concerns about the impact on global demand, triggering a sell-off in stocks such as makers of construction equipment.

The Nikkei share average dropped 0.8 percent to 22,680.33, after falling to as low as 22,601.13, the lowest point since June 6.
