Stocks in Asia-Pacific were mixed as investors await the October fixing of China’s benchmark lending rate.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 declined 0.16% as shares of conglomerate Softbank Group fell more than 1%. The Topix index also shed 0.2%. South Korea’s Kospi was fractionally lower.
Meanwhile, shares in Australia nudged higher, with the S&P/ASX 200 up slightly.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan traded fractionally lower.
